It is a scary situation for sure. We are having the same problems here in the US. Are resources are being zapped and more keep coming. Crime rates are rising, more demands for better housing, food, cell phones, health care, etc.
The most frustrating part is the states and welcomed them all with open arms are now tired of them and can’t afford to care for them and are shipping them by bus and airplane loads wherever they can find to shuffle them off on someone else.
Obviously the current system is not working. I think you have hit on a great point. Deal with the root of the problem not the end result.
